Pho Street Eats is proof that comfort can flourish in unexpected seasons. The mother‑an
d‑daughter stall launched in 2019 while Old Spitalfields Market was still emerging from lockdown lulls. Footfall was low, conversations were long, and every bowl of beef pho felt personal.
"Those quiet months let us meet everyone properly," the daughter recalls. "Now the market is busy again, but we still recognise our regulars and check in with them."
Real Broth, Local Roots
Their recipe never strays from family tradition. Beef bones, star anise and cinnamon are sourced from East‑London butchers and Asian grocers the duo have supported for years. Herbs arrive in the morning, ensuring each bowl carries bright notes of basil and coriander. "Buying local is our way of giving back to the community that keeps us afloat," they say.
Customers notice. First‑timers often return to the stall just to say thanks. "Some have never tasted Vietnamese food before. Their excitement lights Mum up. She retells every encounter, even if I was standing right beside her," the daughter laughs.
