About the event

Meet the artists of KAWAN! KAWAN!

Responding with the physical body and focusing on sensation, Liszu Tan (@liszutan ) treats materials like skin and bones, sinking her teeth in the inner workings of the moving body and the underlying politics that govern its presence in space.

Sona Kharel (@kharel_designs ) investigates the distinction between loneliness and solitude, drawing from Buddhist concepts of detachment and impermanence. The results: wearable forms that materialise from internal experiences.

Aarti Pillai (@aarti_paartiii ) traces migration back to the ocean, the tidal environment an extension of human touch.

Lastly, Julian Udine (@julian.udine.art ) imagines ecology as a collective body, where lifeforms mix and blur between the self, the environment and contamination.
