Translator Magazine — New Issue Launch Party
Translator magazine celebrates the launch of Issue #4 with an evening of readings and performances at October Gallery. Rapper and multidisciplinary artist Princess XIXI (Sirui Chang) joins writer Francisco Garcia and author-translator Kaisa Saarinen, with bandura music from Mariia Petrovska. Entry includes a Yemeni buffet, Vietnamese sweets from Vinaxoa and an open bar.

About the event
Our next issue of Translator magazine takes you to the frontline of protests against a lithium mine in Serbia, into empty caves in Yemen where centuries-old mummies have been looted, and down into the hidden underworld of Finland's homegrown cannabis industry, and much more…
To celebrate, we're having a late summer party, featuring readings and performances by: multidisciplinary artist Sirui Chang (aka rapper @xixi_asinshe), writer and journalist Francisco García (@francisco_garciadf), and author and translator Kaisa Saarinen (@kuuhulluuta).
There will also be music from Mariia Petrovska (@mariampetrovska) who plays traditional songs on the Ukrainian bandura, more tbc!
We'll also be serving a traditional Yemeni buffet from Yemenland (@yemenland.uk), Vietnamese sweet treats from Vinaxoa (@vinaxoa), and an open bar with wine from South Moravia all evening.
Our upcoming issue takes you to the frontlines of Serbia's protests against government corruption and lithium mining, down the alleyways of Hanoi where a crackdown on markets threatens social bonds, and into the mysteries of Yemen's looted mummies.
