About the event

Aris has spent her whole life running away, but even at the edge of the world her problems are there to meet her.

Inspired by stories of yokai, monsters from Japanese folklore, The Runaway Effect is a modern fairytale exploring self-preservation, self-acceptance and abandonment. Brought to life with puppetry, live sound and experimental multimedia, we travel through icy landscapes filled with supernatural entities.

Whether these creatures are helpful, mischievous, malevolent, or entirely in her head, Aris must find out what they want to find her way home.
