SARASANDO - Traditional Indonesian Music Concert with Socials & Snacks
Congklak Social Club hosts INALEAH for an afternoon built around the sasando, the palm-leaf stringed instrument of Rote Island in East Nusa Tenggara. She plays traditional songs and her own work, and improvises a piece from words and feelings the room gives her. Between sets there are snacks from East Nusa Tenggara and games of congklak, so come if you want to meet people rather than just sit and listen.
Time & Location
03 Oct 2026, 15:00 – 17:30
Green Place Studios, 127A Elderfield Road, London E5 0AY

SARASANDO: From Feeling to Sound
An intimate evening of music, culture and connection
What if a concert could be shaped by how you feel?
Join Congklak Social Club for an intimate afternoon with INALEAH, exploring the sounds, stories and traditions of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, through one of the country's most distinctive instruments.
The Sasando is a traditional stringed instrument from the island of Rote, in East Nusa Tenggara. Its distinctive circular palm-leaf structure surrounds the strings, creating a warm, resonant sound unlike almost any other instrument. For one afternoon, experience this remarkable instrument in an intimate London setting.
At the heart of the evening is SARASANDO—a reimagined Sasando performance inspired by "Saya Rasa" ("I feel"). INALEAH invites the audience to contribute words, shapes and feelings that become part of an intimate, improvisational musical experience.
