Viêt and Nam are two miners in love, toiling deep in a coal mine in Northern Vietnam at the turn of the 21st century. They steal moments of intimacy cloaked in the cavernous darkness, but above ground, the two must come to terms with their tumultuous pasts and uncertain futures.

Selected for the Un Certain Regard at Cannes, Trương Minh Quý's oneiric drama quietly reveals the entanglements of individual and collective memory, grief, and dispossession, hauntingly captured on 16 mm.
