About the event
On July 25 Friday, after the screening of ‘Ping Pong’, we’re happy to host a free-entry friendly gathering as part of @cineredis at cinema @w_shed, bridging our community of East & South East Asian creatives and the wider audience together to discuss the film. We would love to watch the film with you too so get your tickets now! 🏓While the film is not about the sports ping pong, it is a first of its kind British-Chinese comedy thriller set in London’s Chinatown about family ties and cultural identity. 🌏
The post-screening discussion will also cover themes like changes in representation of British East and South East Asian film and TV from the 1980s to now. The event will kick off with a guest appearance by Ping Pong star Lucy Sheen. ✨
Thanks to @humaniteadrinks’ generosity, we will also be giving out 20 HumaniTea vegan matcha and earl grey latte drinks at the event. A proudly East & South East Asian-owned social enterprise, HumaniTea was inspired by Taiwanese bubble tea concept and British tea drinking culture to develop a delicious, well-balanced tea latte beverage. 🍵
