About the event
It is past midnight on May 35th. Armed with a dated map of Tiananmen Square, a candle and some matchsticks, a cleaner’s work permit, and a family secret buried for over 30 years, an elderly couple is getting ready to commit the bravest act yet.

Previously, this award-winning play opened to SOLD OUT theatres in Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan.
This global premiere of the English translation, presented with support from Amnesty International UK and Arts Council England, commemorates the 35th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests.
