Join Goldenleaf Studio for a relaxing summer evening of watercolour painting at Chafe Café
Date: 06 November, Friday
Time: 18:00-19:30 (1.5hr)
Join us for Maple Stories, a botanical watercolour workshop inspired by the delicate forms and rich colours of Japanese maple leaves.
As autumn settles in, the streets become scattered with leaves in shades of gold, amber and crimson. Each leaf carries its own pattern, colour and quiet story of the changing season.
In this guided session, we will explore the expressive possibilities of watercolour, learning how to capture the subtle transitions of colour, translucent layers and intricate details found in autumn foliage.
Tickets:
🎟 Early Bird Ticket - £36 (Includes all materials) (Until 28 Oct, Wednesday)
🎟 Standard Ticket - £40 (Includes all materials)
Limited spaces — book now to secure your spot!
What we'll explore
We will begin with a few simple exercises to become familiar with water, pigment and brush control. You'll learn how to create soft wet-on-wet washes, mix natural autumn colours and build depth through gentle layering.
Through step-by-step demonstrations, we'll look at the structure of maple leaves, including their distinctive shapes, delicate veins and slender stems. You'll then develop your own botanical composition, experimenting with movement, overlapping forms and the beautiful variations found in nature.
The workshop combines guided demonstrations with time for individual exploration, allowing everyone to develop their painting at their own pace.
Who is this workshop for?
Suitable for beginners and anyone interested in watercolour, botanical art or finding inspiration in the natural world. No previous painting experience is necessary.

All painting materials are provided, including professional watercolour paints, 300gsm hot-pressed watercolour paper and brushes. Real autumn leaves will also be available for observation and inspiration.
