Lunar New Year Walk + Workshop

Kicking off the year of the fabulous fire horse, we are collaborating with MOTHER Canteen to celebrate the end of Winter nearing and the beginning of Spring with a community walk around Hampstead Heath (~3.3 miles), followed by a workshop that honours the foods and traditions that nourish us and our loved ones around this time of year.

Whether it’s your grandmother's dumplings or a special street food snack that brings you that feeling of home, the workshop will bring us together to reflect and share dishes, recipes and snacks inspired by your experience of LNY. You’ll add your edible inspirations to a scroll of paper - it could be doodles or ways you refer to it in languages beyond English. We hope this canvas will help us make connections between ingredients and dishes, identify and learn about shared histories across our cultures, as well as languages and phrases that are new to us.

Community Walk: This activity will be open for East and South East Asian (ESEA) women, trans, non-binary, and queer folks only.

Workshop: We welcome the ESEA community and allies to join us. Some tickets will be set aside to prioritise our ESEA community so please select your ticket accordingly when you sign up.

There are separate sign ups for the walk and the workshop - you’re welcome to sign up for just one activity or both!
