About the event

【Live Performance | 《A Buzzing Witness

This performance draws on the framework of Unsettled Urbanism, exploring how the spaces we inhabit are constantly changing, unfinished, and reshaped by everyday practices. Through our work, we aim to narrate a story of the city under conditions of uncertainty, viewed through the contrasting lenses of a cicada and a firefly.

While the cicada meditates on its own form of immortality, the firefly illuminates a fleeting moment with its glow. Together, their existence invites a deeper reflection on themes of life and death, highlighting a stark contrast between the mundane resilience of lower life forms and the tragic fate of humans.

Moving beyond the confines of conventional theatres or galleries, we approach this project through immersive, site-specific performance practices.

Lit Wing Hung is a visual artist based between London and Hong Kong. Working across sculpture, installation, textiles, and performative photography, her practice explores displacement, precarity, care, and bodily resilience. Through material-led and siteresponsive approaches, she examines how bodies inhabit and adapt to domestic and provisional spaces shaped by mobility, ownership, and control. Lit received a BA in Fine Art (Sculpture) from RMIT University in 2019 and an MFA in Arts & Humanities from the Royal College of Art, London, in 2026. Her work has been exhibited and developed through international exhibitions and residencies across Hong Kong, Japan, Germany, Portugal, Canada, and the United States. Alongside her artistic practice, she works in art direction, scenography, and Cheongsam making, extending her engagement with material knowledge, craftsmanship, and spatial composition.
