DRIFTING (Play)
Studio Current stages the world premiere of Drifting, a new play by Taipei Literature Award-winning playwright Chia Wei Kuo, directed by Sasha Tzu Yin Hsu. It follows Scottish doctor Patrick Manson in 19th-century Formosa, where a medical error and a mosquito pull him into a dreamlike reckoning, told through physical theatre, original music and dark humour. Free tickets; worth the trip to Loughton for Taiwan-UK history buffs and new-writing fans.

Studio Current is introducing a new collaboration, bringing together an award-winning playwright @lemonwei186 and an emerging director @sashaty_hsu to connect voices from Asia and the West for a world premiere.

Scottish physician pioneer Dr.Patrick Manson arrives in Formosa β present-day Taiwan.
He arrives with a belief β Modern medicine can transform this island. Until a medical error shatters his belief. A mosquito leads him into a journey where truth and illusion intertwine.
