DIASPORA! 26 is a landmark, not-for-profit festival celebrating cultural diversity, community and creativity, taking place 1–10 May 2026 across Bristol and the South West region.
The festival brings together over 100 events — from wellbeing sessions and workshops in the mornings, to talks and interactive workshops in the afternoons, building into powerful performances, DJ sets and live music in the evenings.
Highlights include:
• Diverse Artists Network Exhibition at Arnolfini (1 May – 26 July) — a major exhibition exploring the history of DAN and showcasing work from its dynamic community of artists
• Love Letter to Broadmead (2–4 May) — a bold reimagining of the city centre, transforming streets and shop windows into stages and screens
• Raise the Bar: Poems of DIASPORA! (7 May) — an evening of powerful spoken word, featuring poets from four continents alongside a global DJ set
• Global Majority Environment Gathering (9 May) — dialogue, reflection and action on climate justice, led by voices from Global Majority communities
• Desi Day at Arnolfini (9 May) — a vibrant celebration of South Asian culture
• Dur-Dur Band International at Bristol Beacon (10 May) — a spectacular closing event from the legendary Somali disco pioneers
Organised by the Diverse Artists Network. The festival is thoughtfully designed to celebrate extraordinary talent, heritage and creative ingenuity across diverse, international communities.
