About the event

An afternoon of Mid-Autumn crafts, tea, music and cultural traditions.

Join Yi Crafts and friends for a special Mid-Autumn Festival celebration in London, bringing together traditional craftsmanship, snow skin mooncakes, tea culture and live zither music in one immersive afternoon.

Inspired by one of East Asia's most cherished festivals, Moon Gathering invites you to slow down and celebrate the harvest season through making, tasting and sharing. Throughout the afternoon you'll discover the stories behind traditional crafts, enjoy snow skin mooncakes and Yunnan tea, create a handmade rabbit lantern, and experience the peaceful sounds of the Chinese zither performed live.

Whether you're joining one workshop or spending the whole afternoon with the bundle experience, everyone is welcome to celebrate the full moon together.

EVENT SCHEDULE

🌸 Pankou Workshop with Mooncake Tasting — 2:00pm–5:00pm, £68

Discover the centuries-old art of Pankou (盤扣), the decorative knotted buttons traditionally found on Chinese garments such as the qipao. Guided step by step, you'll learn how a single cord can be transformed into elegant flowers, butterflies and auspicious motifs, while enjoying a tasting of snow skin mooncakes throughout the afternoon.

🥮 Snow Skin Mooncake Making Workshop — 2:00pm–3:30pm, £45

Learn to make your own delicate snow skin mooncakes with a selection of fillings while discovering the traditions behind the Mid-Autumn Festival's most iconic treat. Take your handmade mooncakes home to share with family and friends (vegetarian friendly).

🍵 Tea & Mooncake Tasting with Woodblock Printing — £45

A guided tasting of single-origin teas from Yunnan — the birthplace of tea — paired with snow skin mooncakes (vegetarian friendly), while learning about the history and culture of this seasonal celebration. After the tasting, create your own festive print using traditional Chinese woodblock printing techniques and take home a handcrafted keepsake. Choose one session when booking.
