About the event
The Lantern Festival 元宵節 is celebrated on the 15th day of the Lunar Chinese New Year, marking the end of the celebration.
It’s a time when people come together to celebrate the festival, enjoying the sight of vibrant lantern displays, solving lantern riddles and eating Tang Yuan (湯圓), a traditional sweet dumpling made of glutinous rice, with various sweet fillings. These joyous gatherings, steeped in cultural heritage, also provide an opportunity for reflection on the past year, expression of gratitude for blessings received, and anticipation for the upcoming year.
Come along and listen to traditional songs whilst laughing your socks off to our comedians! See yourselves to our plant-based Asian delicacies, with tea and coffee available.
Feast your eyes on:
Classical Water Sleeves –the Jing Hong Dance’
Lunar New Year greetings & singing
The magnificent ‘fiery’ Dragon Dance
