About the event

SHOTENGAI PAN-ASIAN MARKET at Coal Drops Yard

In conjunction with KIOSK N1C / King’s Cross and taking inspiration from Japan’s many Shōtengai (local market streets) we curate a mix of stalls featuring pan-asian lifestyle including crafts, home-ware and food. Held monthly from April to December at Lower Stable Street, Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross, London.

Initially created in 2021 to celebrate the Tokyo Olympics the event was so successful that we were asked to continue and it is now in its fourth year. For the Olympic year, work from the acclaimed fashion photographer and director Mika Ninagawa was exhibited alongside with a free screening of the film ‘Witches Of The Orient’ was also shown on a large screen opposite Granary Square.

Shōtengai has grown into one of the best London pan-asian destination market concepts with a strong focus on small and independent businesses and retailers, creating bonds between businesses and with the larger London community.
